So the ghost was fine with all the advancements till a tank shows up.
Did the tank just bust through a wall into the Temple?

Well, the Saagermin aren't that different a concept from Hans himself. But does the tank look anything like power armor, or anything in the natural world? Maybe vaguely like a moving boulder or a tortoise, but not really.

And there's a giant hole in the side of the temple.

um, i think the slaughter happened in the antechamber or even slightly before the actual temple, so no worries about the building collapsing......but what shocks me is that the tank, while atacking its target, also happily steam-rolls all over its fellow soldier lying wounded+helpless on the ground.
ok, so the germans are the bad guys here, who donĀ“t give a damn about the lifes of others, but this lack of loyalty among themselves is startling - and shows their utter lack of morals even more then enslaving people.

Why the hell did not the tank use its canon ? Fight from short ditance is disadvantage ....

Maybe because they didn't want the shell to go through a building or two? Remember, tanks are mobile artillery platforms. Powerful ordinance. And there are two rules of firearm safety to consider: Number one being never point a firearm at anything you do not intend to destroy, and the other is be aware of your environment. These rules apply to cannons as well. You fire a cannon, you are going to ruin someone's day. It may not be your target's day, but it will be someones.

Plus there's the problem of positioning. Turrets, while they turn faster than the tank does, are still slower than the average infantryman. Tanks usually suck at dealing with infantry because of that. But tankers still call infantrymen "crunchies" for a reason. It's usually better to just run them over.

I'm not sure what the secondary cannon is, but it's still a cannon by the looks of it. Modern tanks don't have a secondary cannon per se, but do have a machine gun or two for dealing with infantry or light armored materiel.

I tend to overthink things. Probably just as well I'm going into engineering.

Plus a buddy of mine was a tanker in the Marine Reserves.
