Nice dodge but she's not hearing from her left ear for a while.

nah, thanks to those awesome chuthulu-powers she should be fine....however, i´m rather shocked at kharla´s lack of logic - wargyrl was rather calmly sitting+observing julie, and hellqueen clearly fought the apes back, so how the f# did she come to the conclusion that the two want to kill/eat julie?
never mind that by now the pattern should be obvious enough that the ladies only munch on german soldier hearts.

Simple. Cognitive dissonance. Think back to Hellqueen fighting the apes. The dude thought she was leading them, or at least sounded that alarm even though SOMETHING had to be acting against the apes and make them stop with the living. Much the same thing here. The inspector sees an enemy of the state near a known recent target of weirdness, therefore said enemy of the state must be responsible for said weirdness no matter the evidence clearly to the contrary. It's the reason why so many people believe on conspiracy theories. Cognitive dissonance and confirmation bias.

We want to thank both Iceburgh and Peya Luna for your comments. Of course, Iceburgh has explained how the characters think correctly, but this discussion has challenged us to think about the larger issue, and maybe we should find a way to examine how the community sees the Wargyrls in more detail.

That would prove interesting. The world marchen on outside of the immediate story being told, and still effects the characters within the story. The Lord of the Rings is a good example of that, though the books illustrate it a little better since there's a bit more to the end of the story than the movies show. Granted you had branching storylines after a relatively short while, but one storyline had direct consequences on the other. Then at the end, you see what happened to the Shire in the aftermath of the war, and the alienation that the four Hobbits felt after returning home due to what they endured.

And Kharla might find she's on the menu.

It's always good to 'hear' from you, Jamie -- pun intended!
