Over the past few days we received a number of comments on this scene. Most of them involved terms like 'shocking' and 'like a bolt from the blue' and so forth. Of course, we always welcome our readers and we are glad to read everything you have to tell us.

Having said that, we were not intending to be quite so predictable. As it was, the Wargyrl team actually spent a good bit of time on this sequence, composing the pictures and weighing the words. We wanted these pages to be clear enough so that our readers could easily understand what is happening on the page, while at the same time we wanted to avoid smothering the pictures with text and explanations. I think we found a healthy balance, but, I will be the first to admit that the experience of reading a comic on the internet is different than reading a graphic novel; and if the creators give the readers three days between pages, the readers will often do some calculation of their own.

Of course, there is no harm done, surely. Any regrets are like 'tears in the rain', if you will excuse the pun. We are always glad to have our readers visit us, and we are always glad to see your comments. Thanks!

A certain amount of predictability isn't a bad thing. Magicians have been using the predictable to subvert people's expectations for centuries. And even in a graphic novel format, it was still an inevitable outcome. Grabbing a lightening rod in the middle of a lightening storm has very few outcomes. The subversion may take place on the next page - either she's truly toasted, or it amped her up in a sense. Only one way to find out.

i agree with kharla - it only makes sense that she┬┤ll DIE in lightning ;-) and what a pretty death it is! all lit up and with the spiky hair, she reminds me of the liberty, only made of polished chrome - or radioactive.
